15-Year Reunion

15 years ago Julie Middleton purchased 189 acres of redwood, oaks and meadows. Fired by a vision of an intentional community living consciously and gently on the Earth. Others joing in her vision and the first community activities began at Emerald Earth. Inspired by a 3-year drumming circle formed in Berkeley this early group visited the land often, started a garden, improved the cabin and most importantly cleared the rough hunters camp from the sacred redwood grove.

Many of the orginial group have gone on and no longer participate in the continuing community. We gathered to honor these original members and their loving efforts that created the beginning formation of Emerald Earth Sanctuary.
